Join Alex Schloop, Creative Director for the Inns of Aurora, for a hands-on workshop sewing a simple pamphlet stitch book — great for writing shopping lists, collecting inspirational quotes, or giving as a hostess gift! Learn basic bookmaking terminology and concepts while crafting your own take-home book with cover paper imported from Italy. An alumnus of the Wells Book Arts Center, Alex has produced artist books that have shown internationally and often hosts printing and binding workshops across the Finger Lakes region.
All equipment is provided and no experience is necessary. This workshop is $5 for Inns of Aurora guests and is available to the public for $15. Participants will leave with their hand-made book and an instructional hand-out to make more books at home.
